The "keep the chair full" workflow

A cancellation isn't a loss.
It's the next booking, already ringing.

The Salon adapter maps stylists to calendar chairs, holds each caller's requested window on a waitlist, and — the instant a slot frees — matches and offers it automatically. The primary calendar's exclusion guarantee stays untouched, so "we're full" always means full.

A calendar that physically can't double-book

Every chair is a resource on SK Calendar's exclusion-guarded timeline. Two bookings can never overlap the same stylist — the database itself rejects it. Prep and clean-up buffers are reserved with the service, so the chair is never oversold.

  • Per-stylist columns with real open/booked/freed states
  • Service durations + prep/clean buffers reserved automatically
  • Multi-service bookings placed back-to-back from one start

Freed slots match the waitlist — automatically

When an appointment cancels, the freed slot is scored against every waiting caller: does their requested window contain the time, does the service fit, does the stylist preference match? Matches rise to the top; the first is offered — manually, or auto-filled by SK Voice.

  • Window fit ± configurable slack; resource preference respected
  • Auto-fill rings callers in order, up to a max-offers cap
  • Every offer and outcome written to an append-only audit log

Book anyone in three clicks — or drag them in

Search a client by name or phone (booked, waitlisted, or from CRM), pick a service, pick an open slot — done. Or drag a waitlist card straight onto an open chair. If the slot's a little short or the stylist differs, the desk gets a clear "book anyway?" confirm — never a silent mistake.

  • Unified search across calendar, waitlist and CRM customers
  • Availability shows exact fit — FITS or −N minutes short
  • Drag-and-drop works on desktop and touch alike

Your menu, your durations — rebuilds the day live

Set each service's duration, prep and clean/rest time, and your opening hours, in one config drawer. Change a duration and the day's grid re-packs instantly. Auto-fill behaviour — window slack, max offers per slot, tomorrow-fallback — is yours to tune.

  • Per-service duration · prep · clean/rest buffers
  • 15- or 30-minute grid; open/close hours per location
  • Auto-fill, slack tolerance and max-offers all configurable

One salon, wired to the whole suite.

Salon is a thin vertical adapter — it owns scheduling config and orchestrates the base products: bookings live in SK Calendar, callers and history in SK CRM, the offer calls go out through SK Voice, and reminders through SK Notifications. No data is duplicated.

Common questions.

How does auto-fill decide who to call first?
Waitlist entries are held in call order (the order they joined). When a slot frees, only entries whose requested window contains the freed time, whose service fits, and whose stylist preference matches (or is "any") are eligible. The first eligible caller is offered the slot; if they decline or don't answer, it moves to the next, up to your max-offers-per-slot limit.
Can the desk still book manually?
Always. Auto-fill is optional. The front desk can search a client and book any open slot, drag a waitlist card onto a chair, or add someone to the waitlist without a time. When a slot is short or the stylist differs from a caller's preference, the desk gets an explicit confirm before it's placed.
Does it need its own database of bookings?
No. Salon stores only scheduling config (chairs, service durations, auto-fill settings). Actual appointments live in SK Calendar and callers in SK CRM, reached through the backbone — so the double-booking guarantee and your existing records stay the single source of truth.
